At the 2010 Tampa Bay Parade of Homes, Schmidt Brothers Homes won the "Merit Award" for their model home, the Grande Martinique.   

For the second consecutive year, The Grande Martinique was awarded a high honor at the Parade's awards banquet.  As a brand-new model in 2009, it was crowned with the "Grand Award" and now it's received this year's "Merit Award".  Congratulations to Schmidt Brothers and the residents of Bimini Bay, our Apollo Beach waterfront community where this model home is located.

The Apollo Beach Spearfishing Team, sponsored by Schmidt Brothers Homes, finished strong at mid-April's 2010 FSDA State Freedive Spearing Championships at Anclote River State Park. 

The Apollo Beach team - consisting of Bimini Bay residents Aaron Schmidt, TA Martinez and Bill Van Deman (with boat driven by Bimini Bay owner David Robles) - won the Third Place team trophy, following closely on the heels of Second Place [see photo attached].  In the individual divison, Aaron Schmidt came in a close 4th place, barely missing the top three.  This event boasts some of the top freedivers in the state and country, with previous tourney winners, professional divers and world record holders present. 

The top three teams at State Finals qualify for the 2010 US Spearfishing Nationals, August 2-6th in Arkansas.  The Apollo Beach Spearfishing Team is headed to Nationals - congratulations Aaron, TA and Bill!
